add the insurance

when I was orienting for my first nursing job, I asked my preceptor what she thought of malpractice insurance because she had been a nurse for almost 40 years.

She told me it was the cheapest peace of mind she ever had. Then she made sure I knew that the hospital’s legal staff was there for the hospital, and if it was to their benefit to throw you under the bus, they sure would. As soon as I got off shift, I paid for malpractice insurance, and have never been without it.
