my older nurse coworker that is in her 60’s was beat up by a guy that was in his right mind that she was trying to to help keep from falling. he beat her, knocking her out, giving her two black eyes, a concussion and PTSD from it.
no charge was ever brought against the patient, the other nurses didn’t even assist and said that she deserved it (when she is one of the sweetest, best and most attentive nurses I have ever met).
nothing was ever charted in his chart about it by his nurse.
management and administration never did a single thing about it…it took him beating up another nurse at another hospital for him to get charges brought against him by that hospital.
Some hospitals do not stand by their nurses like they say they do.
