can i get a straw?

We were coding a pediatric patient once in the icu with glass doors so the mom next door knew what was happening. I was the runner getting needed supplies she interrupts me in the hallway to ask for a STRAW! It took all the kindness in me to say “Ma’am we are trying to save the child, your straw would have to wait”
