Early covid I was circulating in the OR, and one of the surgeons’ eye protection fell off their face INTO the surgical field. The collective gasp I’ll never forget. Luckily, they landed on the draped field and not the open abdomen, and we were able to place a sterile towel over the compromised area. Thank goodness for antibiotics.
